I have worked as a goalkeeper coach since 2000, I chose this career with a set purpose. Becoming a qualified  teacher was very important to me, being able spread my knowledge and experience . I realised from the very start that teaching and working with children was exactly what I wanted to do. Until 2007 my active goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach career were running parallel, but then I was  forced  to retire from handball as a player.  

2006/2007 was a temporary year, after that in 2007/2008 I had my first official year as goalkeeper coach, when I had the chance to gain more experience  and improve them with new excercises and challenges.   

Next to the technical, tactical training, the mental and psychological preparion is very important, which can be used effectively with adequate knowledge behind it. For that you have to know age specialities, the personality of the goalkeeper, his potentiality, and you need to be able to set goals for him and show the way to do it. The highest professional result can be reached only with a proper self-knowledge.

Not everybody is able to reach the level of professional sport, but everybody can learn to love handball and enjoy their own post. We need to try to get the best from everybody, helping them to find and reach their own limits or push them a little further. Next to the profession we need to train and get them ready for life. We can only reach that if we are always trustworthy and can be a good example for them.    

During the time when I worked with pupils, my goal was to give them as much basic knowledge as I could, I helped them to learn themselves, and gain their own limits, give them experiences which they can take with them, and also help them to find direction in their lives.
