One of my dreams became true, when in 2014 I had my first camp with the help and co-operation of Tököl Sportclub. With Melinda Szikora and Fanni Cziráky we had a strong professional team, and we were waiting with great excitement. People are always really excited before a new challenge or the unknown, because even if you are prepared for everything and try to figure out all the answers in your head, human nature is always unpredictable. Everybody knows that working with people and especially youngsters can be difficult, they will only show their happiness if they are having a good time. To our great relief and happiness from the very begining we found everyone had smiles on their faces and all of our expectations were exceeded. The camp had a great energy all week and there were some great moments.
The camp focused on technical side of being a goalkeeper, so at the heart we had specialized trainings, but we also wanted everyone to learn to love the game and enjoy playing it. The extra programs served to give knowledge of the whole game alongside being a goalkeeper. We played speedmington, football, made horse carts, and spent a some time in the swimming pool, we also trained our brain and learned basic knowledge during a group session. A mix of boys, girls, youngsters and older players worked out all the answers to the questions together.
The goal was achieved, we will continue to try to give joy and great memories to many many young goalies.
