Brigi Remembers back to our collaboration

I started handball in 2000 in Csákvár, bacause of an urge from a friend who was the only goalkeeper of the team, she asked me to try this sport, and if I didn’t like it, I could say no.

But I didn’t say no, I did not start as a goalkeeper , I also played as a back player and pivot. My coaches thought that I wasn’t very good as a field player so I went back to the goal again and this is where I stayed. At Csákvár I worked with two coaches: János Szalma and Lajos Udvari.

I was in 8th grade when I started to practice with the Fehérvár Junior team once a week and with the start of high school I stayed. At Fehérvár KC I improved under the hands of: Csenki Györgyné, Attila Mihály and my former coach János Szalma. I became a member of the first team in 2005. My first match in the 1st team was against Dunaújváros where I was in the team with Susu, then against Miskolc in the Hungarian Cup, where I played next to her I always think of those matches with great fondness, those are very memorable moments in my life. From 2005 I worked together with many experts in the first team (Edina Szabó, József Vura, László Sótonyi, Attila Mihály, Csaba Konkoly), in the last year of my career Pal Oldrup Jensen, Bea Siti and Tímea Sugár were my coaches.

I used to be member of youth and the Junior National team with both teams we became 8th in the European Cup. I aslo had chance to work together with many noted coaches as a national team player, Eszter Mátéfi, János Hadju, Éva Szarka, József Varga and Feketéné Kovács Évával.

I have worked together with Susu for eight years, the first 3-4 were a tough challenge with her and also with myself, but it was worth it. But then in the last 4 years our relationship blossomed, it was like she was my mother. On the court she had the toughest expectations, but off the court I could to to her with anything. We have been on many journeys, trips, great experiences, long chats, we can go to her with anything, and she is a GREAT PERSON with capital letters, who tries to help with anything. All together I can say I can be very thankful to her for all the help, motivation, learning, and debates :) both on and off the court.
